Custom Foot Orthotics

At Sunrise Physiotherapy, we prescribe foot orthotics to help our clients with the following issues:

  • Bunions, hammer toes
  • Arch/heel pain
  • Leg/knee pain
  • Hip or back pain
  • Neck pain

Custom orthotics is designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically corrected position. They might look like insoles, but they are medical devices custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance.

We use the GaitScan™ system, a state-of-the-art diagnostic tool, to provide us with a comprehensive evaluation. The report contains more than a million data points to help us analyze your deviations from optimal biomechanics so we can fit you in the most customized foot orthotics, tailored specifically for you.

Supports and Braces

Supports and braces provide reinforcements to your body for stability where you need it. They are designed to relieve pain, reduce swelling, and speed up the healing process following injury, surgery, or help manage chronic health conditions.

They serve multiple purposes, including providing support for sports for work-related injuries, spine relief for osteoporosis patients, and knee support for those with arthritis conditions.

Bauerfeind’s award-winning knee braces, ankle supports, back support belts, in addition to supports for the shoulder, elbow and wrist, feature a unique, breathable and moisture-wicking knitted fabric that gives effective compression and excellent comfort levels.

Bauerfeind: Premium materials. Superior performance.

All of the braces, supports, compression socks and stockings we provide for our clients are made by Bauerfeind, a manufacturer of medical aids for more 70 years. Their products are designed and made in Germany with quality engineering and excellent craftsmanship.

Bauerfeind’s has “Friend of the Games” status in Canada and professional athletes used its products during the Winter Olympics Games 2010 in Vancouver. (Source: Bauerfeind Supplies Products For Athletes From All Participating Nations)

Compression Socks and Stockings

Compression socks and stockings are designed to apply pressure to your legs to help:

  • Improve blood flow
  • Reduce discomfort
  • Decrease swelling
  • Minimize varicose veins
  • With post-surgery to prevent blood clots

Sports

Compression Socks are perfect for athletes who need to improve blood circulation in the legs, reduce muscle vibrations, and speed up recovery. Bauerfeind’s Compression Sock Performance helps your leg veins flow blood upward to the heart so a graduated compression is firmer near the angle and reduces progressively up the leg. This is achieved in the compressive knit made from a lightweight and breathable, yet durable microfiber material that provides optimal temperature regulation.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy, a woman’s body undergoes a changing body and a growing womb, which presses on the veins in the pelvis area and put severe strain of the veins in the legs. This can cause tired legs, water retention (edema), or even unsightly varicose veins. Wearing compression stockings will help circulate blood flow to the heart and reduce the risk of varicose veins or water retention in the legs.

Slight to Moderate Compression for Everyday Use

Bauerfeind’s most popular compression stocking is the VenoTrain micro. Made with 50% microfiber, it is particularly soft and gentle on your skin. Moisture is transported away and air can circulate to your skin, preventing any unpleasant build-up of heat. The comfortable, elastic knit stimulates blood circulation, relieves your veins, and has a contemporary stylish look. Available in a wide variety of designs and nine classic colors, these stockings are made to match the needs of people with different preferences and lifestyles.
